Felicia B Umoh Esq is the Managing Partner of Felicia B. Umoh and Associates (Tobay Chambers), a firm of Solicitors, Mediators and Consultants with office in Apo, Abuja, Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B. Hons-1984), University of Calabar; a Call-to-Bar Certificate of Nigerian Law School (B.L. - 1985), Lagos and a Master of Laws Degree (LL.M.- 2004), University of Lagos. She is a Fellow: Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (FCIS); Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators of Nigeria (FICMC) and Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC), Nigeria. She has attended many courses both local and international including: • Programme on International Trade Law, Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) by Int’l Dispute Resolution Institute in collaboration with the United Nations Commission on Int’l Trade Laws (UNCITRAL) in Abuja (2018) • Negotiation, Drafting and Management of Contracts by International Law Institute – African Centre for Legal Excellence (ILI-ACLE), Kampala (2012). • 5th International Arbitration and ADR in Africa Workshop, Cape Town, S/Africa (2009). • 4th International Arbitration & ADR in Africa Workshop, Cairo, Egypt (2008). Her work experience spans many years in the Banking and Aviation Industries as Legal Adviser and Corporate Secretary before moving to the Public Sector where she worked and retired on the directorate level as Head, Legal Services, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Abuja in 2020. She has a broad-base experience in Corporate and Commercial Law practice; Administration; and Corporate Secretarial Practice. She possesses strong negotiation skills for Mediation, Disputes Settlement and Contract matters. She is hardworking, resourceful and unassuming with a high sense of commitment to duty. She is an active member of ICMC, Abuja Branch and the Provost of the current EXCO of the Branch. Since She was inducted as an Associate Member in 2018, she has attended all the AGMs of ICMC and is up to date in payment of her annual dues both Branch and National. From the nature of her work, she has handled a lot of contract negotiations and settled many disputes arising therefrom in addition to some family disputes.
